Government Senior Secondary School at Rait village in the Shahpur Assembly constituency will be upgraded to a Rajiv Gandhi Government Model day boarding school, said Kewal Singh Pathania, local MLA and Deputy Chief Whip of the Congress in the Vidhan Sabha, here today.

He said that Rs 5 crore would be spent on the upgrade and renovation of this school. This project, he added, was part of the state government’s initiative to strengthen the educational infrastructure and provide quality and modern education to students.

Pathania said that this model school would be equipped with smart classrooms, indoor stadiums and playgrounds to ensure a holistic development of children. He added, "This school will prove to be a boon to the students of the Shahpur Assembly constituency."

Pathania recalled his personal association with the school and said, “I had attended this school at Rait, so its upgrade as a Rajiv Gandhi day boarding school is a matter of pride for me. I am confident that this school will brighten the future of Shahpur’s children,” he added.
