Suspended Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Pankaj Sharma, who was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Sunday has been sent on a one-day remand by the court.

The ASI, who has been accused of tampering with the evidence in the mysterious death of the former Chief Engineer of Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (HPPCL), Vimal Negi, was presented in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) in Shimla today.

According to the sources, CBI, during the hearing sought a five-day remand, however, the court granted one-day remand.

Pankaj has been accused of tampering with a crucial evidence in the case.
