Hamiprpur, June 23

Former Chief Minister VIrbhadra Singh was a real statesman, who had dedicated his life for the service of people of Himachal Pradesh, said Rajender Zar, president, District Congress Committee, here, after distributing fruits, juices and sweets among patients at various hospitals in the district to mark his 87th birthday today.

He was accompanied by Inder Dutt Lakhanpal, MLA, Barsar, along with members of the DCC and the BCC, Barsar.

He said Virbhadra Singh had a mass following because of his love for the people.

Speaking on the occasion, Lakhanpal said Virbhadra Singh believed in uniform development of the state. The former Chief Minister had set milestones of development in Hamipur district, including establishment of the National Institute of Technology, medical college and administrative subdivisions, the MLA said.
