The district administration will be setting up kiosks at all major bus stands in the district to enroll new voters from December 11 to 14. Deputy Commissioner Debashveta Banik said that the

voter lists would also be made available for inspection by the general public at these kiosks.

Banik added that apart from kiosks, voter lists would also be made available at all 531 polling booths in the district. She said that people who would be 18 years of age as of January 1, 2021, would be eligible for enrolment in the lists.

The exercise was started to add names of people would were left out from the voter lists and to omit the names of deceased persons. She urged youth clubs, women and social orgnisations to help election staff update the lists. Banik further stated said that the updated voter lists would help in conducting better elections in the future.
