Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) campus unit of the ABVP has resented 10 per cent hike in fee by the International Centre for Distance Education and Open Learning (ICDEOL). Activists submitted a memorandum to the Registrar. Secretary of the ABVP campus unit Manish Verma said the ICDEOL was catering to thousands of students seeking higher education and the 10 per cent increase was not justified and be withdrawn immediately. ABVP campus president Vishal Verma said the hike would deprive poor students of education. In case the university did not roll back the hike, the ABVP would not hesitate from launching an agitation, he warned.
