THE Public Works Department has not been able to reinstall a damaged gabion near Fanauti village on the Khanag-Rohchala-Juhad road in Anni subdivision for the last 14 months. Owing to this, the bus service till Juhad village has not been restored. Passengers have to commute 3 km on foot beyond Rohchala. Due to the lack of food and accommodation facilities for drivers and conductors, the bus is taken to Karshalabagh in the evening. The bus leaves from there in the morning, due to which residents of eight villages of Fanauti panchayat are affected. The gabion should be reinstalled at the earliest. —Lal Chand, Kullu

THE ultrasound facility is not available at the Banjar Civil Hospital as there has not been a radiologist here for a very long time. Even the X-ray facility is not available during late hours and patients have to travel around 60 km to Kullu or Mandi in case of emergencies. Many posts have been lying vacant in other Community Health Centres and Primary Health Centres. The work on the new building is also progressing at a snail's pace. The government and the department should provide better healthcare facilities here. —Aditya, Kullu
