ONLY a gabion of the foundation of the building of the Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Kungash in the Anni sub-division has been constructed in the last two and a half years. Due to the non-availability of budget on time, the estimate of this building has now increased from Rs 1.26 crore to Rs 2 crore. The condition of health facilities in Kungash is that the doctors and staff here are also forced to work in a small rented room. PHC Kungash is very important for the area, as it provides health services to the people of over 12 panchayats. —Rakesh Kumar, Kungash

Expedite construction work of Bhuntar bridge

THE work of the Bhuntar bridge should be expedited soon. Around two months have passed since the traffic on the bridge has been halted and the PWD has kept a target of six months to complete the 40.60m-double lane RCC bridge over Beas. However, so far only dismantling of the Bailey bridge has been done. The bridge must be completed before June as the water level of Beas rises in that month and it can affect the work. —Naresh Kumar, Bhuntar
