As many as 117 roads were closed due to steady rain across the state since Thursday morning. Meanwhile, snowfall was recorded in the Chitkul area of Kinnaur district last night. The weather department, though, hasn’t confirmed it as it doesn’t have a weather station close to the area.

As per the weather department, rain is likely to continue throughout the day in most districts of the state. It has issued an ‘orange alert’ for light to moderate rainfall at many places in Sirmaur, Solan, Kinnaur, Mandi and Shimla districts. The department has also issued an alert for flash floods in Kinnaur district.

Minimum temperatures have slipped below normal at most places due to steady rainfall.
