Shimla, July 25
The state recorded 95 Covid-19 cases today, taking the tally to 2,049, including 11 deaths.
A steep increase of 35 and 25 cases were reported in Solan and Sirmaur districts, respectively, while 15 cases were recorded in Mandi, seven in Chamba, six in Una, four in Kangra, two in Hamirpur and one in Shimla district.
25 cases in Sirmaur
As many as 25 more persons, including two children, tested Covid-positive in Sirmaur district on Saturday. Deputy Commissioner RK Pruthi said that 24 of the 25 infected persons belong to Govindgarh in Nahan. All patients were shifted to the Covid care centres.
Solan crosses 500 mark
Solan district witnessed a surge in Covid cases with 35 persons, including a two-year- old girl, testing positive in the industrial belt of Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh. Solan became the first district to cross the 500 count with the number of active cases surging to 325.
As many as 15 Covid cases were reported in Mandi district on Saturday. Those found infected included a three-month-old baby girl and her mother and six other persons in the Pandoh area. Besides, one case was reported in Janjehi, two in Balh and remaining in different parts of the district. Deputy Commissioner Rugved Thakur said that the patients had been shifted to a dedicated Covid care centre.
Three infected in Kangra
Three persons tested positive for coronavirus in Kangra district. A 21-year-old Army jawan from Saperu village in Palampur with travel history of Leh, a 30-year-old man from Begusarai district of Bihar and a 30-year-old man from Jaind village in Palampur with travel history of Mohali were found infected.
2 jawans ve in Chamba
Six persons, including two Army jawans, tested Covid-positive in Chamba district. A 29-year-old Army jawan, a 38-year-old woman Asha health worker posted at Kandhwara in Kihar block, a 24-year-old man from Sarog village in Kihar block with travel history of Delhi, a 64-year-old labourer with travel history of Bihar, a 47-year-old man from Bathri village in Samote block with travel history of Jalandhar and a 21-year-old Army jawan from Tritha village in Samote block with travel history of Ladakh were found infected.
