Shimla, July 21
The Shimla police have arrested three persons, including a woman, with 89 gm of heroin in two different cases here today.
In first case, the police arrested an interstate drug peddler from Haryana and a woman with 87.97 gm of heroin from Bhadrash in Rampur.
The accused have been identified as Manish (22), a resident of Chotta Bagad village (Haryana), and Yogita Devi (29), a resident of Barang village (Kinnaur).
The police received a tip-off that both the accused were staying in a rented room in Bhadrash and were involved in heroin trade. Taking immediate action, a police team raided their room and seized the contraband from their possession. In another case, the police arrested a 22-year-old youth from Lalpani with 2.3 gm of heroin. The accused has been identified as Rahul Jaiswal (22), a resident of Koti village (Shimla).
Shimla Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi confirmed the report and said further investigation was underway. He said cases under the NDPS Act, 1985, have been registered against the accused.
