Woman, two sons arrested with drugs in Nurpur

A Jawali police station team, on a tip-off, raided the house and seized the drugs and the money from the possession of Ranjna Devi and her two sons, identified at Sunny Kumar and Sunil Kumar, alias Nokha.
The police arrested Ranjna and one of her sons Sunny while her other son Sunil Kumar escaped by taking the advantage of darkness. The police launched a manhunt for him and nabbed him from Dehri village Tuesday morning. SP, Nurpur, Kulbhushan Verma said that a case under Sections 20, 21, 29-85 of the NDPS Act had been registered against the accused.
The SP said that the district police were committed to dismantling interstate as well as intrastate drug trafficking networks and ensuring a drug-free border district. He appealed to the people of the area to keep a close vigil on drug peddlers in their area and report any suspicious activity involving the sale, purchase, transportation or smuggling of drugs to the nearest police station or on the police helpline number.
