Deputy Speaker Vinay Kumar on Thursday flagged off a 60-member women’s delegation from Renuka Ji on a week-long spiritual tour to Ayodhya, organised entirely at his personal expense. Highlighting the vital role of women in shaping a self-reliant Himachal Pradesh, he said the state government is committed to creating equal opportunities across sectors so women can face life’s challenges with confidence and realise their full potential.

He noted that welfare programmes such as the Mukhyamantri Kanyadaan Yojna, Mukhyamantri Shagun Yojna, Widow Remarriage Scheme and the Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh Samman Nidhi are designed to support women at every stage of life. Strengthening women’s economic independence remains a key priority, he added, with efforts underway to link them with Self-Help Groups.
