Work on link road to Theog Navodaya Vidyalaya begins

The construction work of the link road from NH-05 to Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Theog, began on Friday. The lack of road connectivity had been a long-standing issue for the school, its students and their parents. The work began today in the presence of Theog SDM Mukesh Sharma and JNV Principal Sangeeta Shonik.

In the absence of a proper road, parents were forced to travel on an unmetalled stretch to meet their children at the boarding school. After the principal took up the issue with Shimla DC Anupam Kashyap and he saw the poor condition of the road during a surprise visit to the school, he assured school authorities at that a proper road would be constructed before the school reopened after winter vacation.

The work on the project began after the DC sanctioned an initial Rs 10 lakh for metalling the road. “I am grateful to the district administration, especially the DC and the SDM, for ensuring a smooth start to the project. This road will bring much-needed relief to our students,” said Principal Shonik.
