National Buildings Construction Corporation Limited has issued a letter of award (LoA) to a contractor for the construction of a new building of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Government Medical College and Hospital (PJNGMC&H) Phase-I, here on design, engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) basis.

The total value of the tender is Rs 289.74 crore.

A 24-month deadline has been fixed for the execution of the work. However, the completion schedule would be duly approved by NBCCL.

Currently, the medical college is being run from the old premises of Akhandchandi Palace and the faculty and students have been residing at rented accommodation and hostels.
