While one worker died on the spot, another worker received serious injuries and was rushed to a hospital in Haryana. A third worker reportedly suffered minor injuries.

The deceased has been identified as Ram Vilas Sahni (53), a resident of Mohanpur, Samastipur district, Bihar. The injured worker has been identified as Om Prakash, a resident of Bhavarahi village, Chandauli district, Uttar Pradesh. He is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Haryana’s Naraiangarh.

According to police reports, the workers were feeding raw material into the furnace when the crane holding a trolley filled with molten iron suffered a gear slip. The trolley tipped over, pouring the molten metal onto the labourers working beneath it.
