A 15-day workshop on ‘Web development and web security’, organised by the BCA Department of Government Post Graduate College, Chamba, concluded successfully. The workshop was conducted by expert resource person Riddhi Soral, CEO of ASD Academy, Kota, Rajasthan, who provided students with in-depth practical training in the field.

The students of the sixth semester BCA participated in the workshop. Addressing the concluding ceremony as chief guest, Principal Dr Madan Guleria said after this training, students were now better equipped to build, manage and secure websites and tackle modern cybersecurity threats such as hacking and phishing.

He also noted that students gained vital knowledge on topics like SQL injection, cross-site scripting, secure environments for websites, data protection, privacy measures, and career pathways in cybersecurity roles such as security analysts.

He said such workshops acquaint students with both the intricacies of web technology and the importance of cybersecurity to help them meet the evolving demands of the tech industry.

Riddhi Soral shared her experience and elaborated on key aspects and benefits of the workshop. A multiple-choice quiz was also held during the workshop. Abhishek Vij and Avinash Jaryal secured first place, Rahul Kumar stood second, and Milan Vij came third. The winners were honored with prizes by the chief guest.

Students Milan Vij and Akshit presented their learnings through PPTs, covering topics such as web basics, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, cookies, DOM, PHP, web security, attacks like footprinting, brute force, phishing, session hijacking, dark web, cyber theft, and domain creation.
