The weather department has issued a yellow alert for heavy rain, thunderstorms and lightning at isolated places in the state on September 12 and 13.

The yellow alert has been issued for all districts except Una, Hamirpur, Chamba and Lahaul and Spiti.

The possible impact of heavy rain, thunderstorm and lightning could be localised flooding of roads, waterlogging in low-lying areas and reduction in visibility, the department said. There’s also a possibility of damage to horticulture and standing crops in some areas due to inundation, it added.
