HPYC president Chhatter Singh Thakur alleged the extension flouted the High Court’s order on the issue. The Youth Congress submitted a memorandum to Raj Bhavan, demanding immediate cancellation of the extension granted to the VC.

On this occasion, Thakur condemned the extension as a direct assault on constitutional values and legal propriety. “Such appointments in educational institutions will not be tolerated at any cost. This attempt to saffronize education will not succeed,” he said. Thakur warned that if the VC’s extension was not revoked immediately, the Youth Congress will escalate its agitation. Youth Congress general secretary Ranjeet Verma said the extension was a severe blow to transparency and accountability, claiming corruption and mismanagement in the university under the VC.
