Indian Premier League (IPL) chairman Arun Kumar Dhumal has said role of the youth was critical to making India a prosperous country. He stated this while addressing a gathering at ‘Aas Pados Yuva Sansad’ programme organised by Nehru Yuva Kendra at Career Point University near here. He added that India was progressing under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and had achieved many milestones under his tenure. He said the government had initiated many programmes for the youth, including My Bharat portal, Viksit Bharat and other youth leadership programmes. He said the objective of this programme was to inculcate leadership skills among the youth so that they could lead in their respective fields with confidence.

Dhumal said this programme had been successful in encouraging the youth to become entrepreneurs and job providers instead of job seekers. He said Nehru Yuva Kendra is organising these programmes across the country and appreciated its efforts to divert the attention towards sports and social activities.

CPU Vice-Chancellor Dr Sanjeev, Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association member Narender Attri and District Youth Officer Deepmala were also present at the event on Friday.
