Chamba, September 3

The body of a youth, who had gone to Lumdal, a holy lake in Gehra area of Chamba district, along with six companions on August 23, was recovered in the bushes on a high altitude hill en route Gehra to Lumdal on Wednesday, the police said here today.

The police revealed that the deceased had been identified as Avnesh, alias Rinku (29), a resident of Eharwad village of the district.

The deceased was on way back. Though his companions reached home on August 26, Avnesh could not.

Later, a report of Avnesh’s missing was lodged at Chamba police station. Gehra police was directed to trace Avnesh.

Accordingly, a police team launched a search along with a pedestrian who had seen Avnesh on the way. His body was recovered in the bushes on a deserted place en route Lumdal.

It is believed that Avnesh died after falling from hillside, police said; adding that after an autopsy, the body was handed over to his kin.
