Government Post Graduate College, Chamba, will host the Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2025 being held under the joint aegis of the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, the National Service Scheme (NSS), and Nehru Yuva Kendra on March 21.

Programme coordinator Prof Avinash Pal said that college has been designated as the nodal institution for Chamba and Lahaul-Spiti districts.

Providing details about the event, he said the last date for registration was March 16. By the deadline, youth aged 18 to 25 from various institutions in Chamba district had registered by uploading their video submissions. After the initial screening process, outstanding candidates were shortlisted for the next round.

In the second phase, these selected participants will present a speech of 2.45 to 3 minutes on the topic “One Nation, One Election — A Step Towards a Developed India” during the Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2025, scheduled on Friday. A panel of judges will then select the top 10 participants, who will go on to represent nodal district Chamba at the state level.

To oversee the smooth execution of the event, an organising committee has been formed. The committee includes Principal of Chamba College, Dr. Madan Guleria as Chairman and Vivek Kumar, District Youth Officer, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Chamba as the organising secretary while Professor Pal, Professor Santosh Devi, Dr Shelly Mahajan, along with NSS programme officers from various colleges would be the committee member.

Prof Pal extended congratulations and best wishes to all selected participants. He also urged them to arrive at the college auditorium by 10 am on March 21 with the required documents.
