Resentment prevails among educated youths in several areas over lapses in the renewal of their job cards at government employment exchanges during the Covid-19 crisis when movement was remained restricted or blocked. Those candidates, who could not get their employment cards renewed by the prescribed date, have urged thegovernment to extend the renewal date to March 31, so that their registrations with the employment exchanges remain alive on the basis of their seniority.

The government should issue an advisory in this regard on the lines of the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways that on Sunday extended the validity of vehicle documents such as driving licences, registration certificates and permits till March 31, they said.

District Employment Officer Arvind Chauhan said the government had already given two months’ relaxation to the candidates registered with the employment exchanges to get their job cards renewed. — OC
