The RG Kar Medical College and Hospital authorities have issued a notification, announcing the decision to expel 10 doctors, including interns, house staff and senior residents, from the hospital.

All of them, sources said, were close confidants of former principal at RG Kar, Sandip Ghosh, against whom the CBI is conducting two parallel probes — involvement in the rape and murder of a junior doctor and financial irregularities.

The expelled employees were identified as house staff Ashish Pandey, who is in CBI custody over ‘involvement’ in financial irregularities, Ayushree Thapa, Sourav Pal, Abhishek Sen, Nirjan Bagchi, Sarif Hasan, Neelagni Debnath, Amarendra Singh, Satpal Singh and Tanweer Ahmed Kazi.

The charges against them include threatening others to fail exams, forcing juniors to join a political party, sexual harassment, violence, forceful collection of money, lodging of false FIRs, etc.
