31 CBI officers awarded Police Medal

As many as 31 officers of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) have been awarded the President's Police Medal for distinguished service and Police Medal for meritorious service by President Droupadi Murmu on the occasion of Republic Day.

The distinguished service medal was awarded to six officers which included two IPS officers. They are Datla Sreenivasa Varma, 1997-batch IPS officer, who is currently posted as Joint Director (North East), CBI, Guwahati and agency's Joint Director in Delhi, Ghanshyam Upadhyay, a 1999-batch IPS officer.

The other four officers were Tejpal Singh, Assistant Inspector General, CBI, Policy Division, New Delhi, Naresh Kumar, DSP, CBI (Head Office), New Delhi, Bhani Singh Rathore, Sub Inspector, CBI, ACB, Jaipur and Aikodan Balakrishnan, Assistant Sub Inspector, CBI, ACB, Goa.

The twenty-five CBI officers who received Police Medals for meritorious service included 4 IPS officers.
