The centre on Tuesday appointed six senior advocates as Additional Solicitor Generals (ASGs) for a term of three years to defend it in cases before the Supreme Court.
The decision was taken by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet on Monday.

The newly appointed ASGs are S Dwarakanath, Archana Pathak Dave, Satya Darshi Sanjay, Brijender Chahar, Raghavendra P Shankar and Rajkumar Bhaskar Thakare.
