Senapati (Manipur): Hundreds of residents lined the streets on Monday to welcome Rahul Gandhi as the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra crossed some violence-hit areas of Manipur. They expressed hope that the high-profile visit would play a pivotal role in restoring peace.

Interacting with The Tribune, members of both the Meitei and Kuki communities conveyed their appreciation for Rahul Gandhi’s decision to commence the yatra from Manipur, highlighting their desire for normalcy after prolonged periods of violence. Hemang, a member of the Montbung Youth Club that warmly welcomed Rahul, said, “We want peace to be restored in our state, and everyone to live a normal life just as we did before.”
