Approximately 50 homes in west Delhi’s Peeragarhi village were affected by the contaminated water over the weekend. The source of the contamination remains unclear.

The incident was highlighted in a viral video of the blue water coming out from a tap in a residence. Social media user @SumiranKV shared the video in a post on X and captioned it, ‘“Aaj blue hai paani-paani…” turned into a reality in Delhi!’

‘People of the capital were bored of regular water, so now for a change, the revolutionary government of @ArvindKejriwal is supplying blue water. Enjoy!’ the user added.

According to reports by The Indian Express, village head Vinod Shaukeen lodged a complaint with the Delhi Jal Board. He suspects the contamination is linked to sewage and chemical waste from nearby denim-dyeing factories.

The officials said that a report on the issue is being prepared.
