India on Friday successfully test-fired an Intermediate Range Ballistic Missile, Agni-IV, from the Integrated Test Range in Chandipur off the Odisha coast, said the Ministry of Defence.

The Agni-IV is a nuclear-tipped missile that can hit targets some 4,000 km away.

The Agni-V is the longest-range nuclear-tipped missile in the Indian arsenal. It can travel up to 5,500 km.

The MoD said the launch successfully validated all operational & technical parameters. It was conducted under the aegis of the Strategic Forces Command, which functions under the command and control of the PM.
