Later, in a post on X, Akhilesh said that the BJP’s conspiracy was not just limited to deleting names from voters’ list, but also to remove names from ration cards, caste certificates, properties and land records.

“The entire chronology of SIR needs to be understood. The BJP wants to bring the poor, backward and Dalits as well as minorities on the road. But it will not be able to win after being exposed in the SIR issue, as an awakened public will protect its vote, cast it carefully and keep a watch over it. It will only be satisfied after obtaining the victory certificate and by removing the BJP from power,” Yadav posted.

Senior Congress leader KC Venugopal said Akhilesh was a “steadfast ally” in the party’s fight against the BJP’s alleged attempt to destroy the country’s democracy.

“This morning, former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav joined the Voter Adhikar Yatra in Saran. Welcomed him to this historic movement to protect democracy. He has been a steadfast ally in our fight against the BJP’s destruction of our democracy, and a strong voice for the poor and underprivileged in UP and across the country,” Venugopal said in a social media post.
