All Indian visa application centres in Bangladesh will remain closed until further notice, according to reports.

The decision follows the current unrest in the neighbouring country following the quota protests.

Sheikh Hasina had resigned and fled the country after the quota protests turned violent and claimed hundreds of lives.

On Wednesday, India had recalled its non-essential staff from the embassy and consulates.
