Army briefs military attaches from 70 countries on Operation Sindoor

The Ministry of Defence on Tuesday briefed the military attaches of 70 countries on the conduct of Operation Sindoor.

The operation that has set a new normal India-Pakistan relation, highlighting India’s demonstrated strength and national resolve through military superiority in the new-age warfare, according to a statement issued Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff.

Launched on May 7, the operation was conducted in response to an attack by terrorists at Pahalgam on April 22, in which 26 persons were killed. The Indian Armed Forces (IAF) carried out precision strikes at several terrorist camps located in Punjab province in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir.

In response to Pakistan launching drones and missile on civilian and military places across the entire western border, the IAF hit over a dozen strategic military installations in Pakistan from Rawalpindi in the north to Karachi in the south. This included critical airbases associated with its nuclear capability, radar centres and drone launch pads.

Briefing the attaches, Lt Gen DS Rana, Director General Defence Intelligence Agency, elaborated on deliberate planning process for selection of targets with confirmed terror linkages.

The integrated, precise and prompt response by the IAF to achieve the stated objectives, executed through intense multi-domain operations was also highlighted.

Synergised force application through jointness and integration achieved in 'Operation Sindoor', with demonstrated battle effectiveness of indigenous kinetic force multipliers was showcased to the foreign attaches, while highlighting technological superiority of the Indian Armed Forces in niche non-kinetic domains of space, cyber and electronic warfare.

Lt Gen Rana also placed credible record of the relentless anti-India misinformation campaign conducted by the adversary and its ramifications on regional peace and stability.

Modalities of our ‘whole-of-the-nation’ approach which effectively and swiftly countered the false narrative, was also highlighted.
