The Army is procuring over 110 electric vehicles (EVs) with an investment of Rs 175 crore. All these are being currently inducted only in Delhi, though plans afoot to expand the fleet of EVs across other regions over the next two-three years.

Another 60 electric buses, 415 cars and 423 motorcycles are under various stages of procurement and are likely to be inducted by December 2025.

The expansion is anticipated to facilitate reduction in logistics loads by minimising fuel requirements and promoting green sustainability.
