BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj and saffron party's spokesperson Nalin Kohli were among 39 lawyers designated as Senior Advocates by the Supreme Court on Wednesday. The decision was notified on August 14.

Ten of the 39 newly designated Senior Advocates were women. Apart from Swaraj and Kohli, Abhimanyu Bhandari, Anindita Pujari, Aparna Bhat, Ashok Panigrahi, Gaurav Sharma, Indra Sawhney, Parameshwar K, Rishi Malhotra and Shadan Farasat were also a part of the list of lawyers designated as Senior Advocates. — TNS

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
