Bengaluru techie, wife kill self after poisoning 2 kids

A software professional and his wife allegedly died by suicide after killing their two young children in Bengaluru, the police said on Monday.

The deceased have been identified as 38-year-old Anoop, who belonged to Uttar Pradesh, his wife Raakhi (35) and their children Anupriya (5) and Priyansh (2). The incident took place within the limits of Sadashivanagar police station.

The couple’s domestic help told the police that they were distraught as Anupriya was a child with special needs.

The police are learnt to be investigating the case from various angles, including murder and suicide.

The police suspect that depressed by Anupriya’s condition, the couple allegedly poisoned their children and then hanged themselves at their residence.

The family had three maids and Anoop had asked them to come early on Monday as they were planning to visit Puducherry. Two of those were hired for cooking and one to take care of the children.

On August 3, 2023, a 31-year-old software professional, Veerarjuna Vijay, allegedly died by suicide after killing his wife Hemavathi (29) and two daughters aged 18 months and 8 months in Kadugodi police station limits of Bengaluru.
