BIHAR BATTLE: Indira silenced US, Modi scared of confronting Trump: Rahul

Lok Sabha Leader of the Opposition and former Congress president Rahul Gandhi again targeted PM Narendra Modi in poll-bound Bihar on Thursday, alleging he was scared of confronting US President Donald Trump.

“Trump has said more than 50 times that he forced Modi to stop Operation Sindoor. The US President is commenting about our Army and the Air Force, yet Modi does not have the courage to say that Trump is lying,” said Rahul while addressing rallies in Nalanda and Sheikhpura.

The Congress leader said that his grandmother and former PM Indira Gandhi, on the other hand, had silenced then US President Richard Nixon during the 1971 Pakistan war. “Indira Gandhi was brave. She had the courage to silence the US President, while Modi fears Trump,” he said.

Rahul claimed that had “vote theft” not taken place, there would have been Congress governments in both Maharashtra and Haryana. He said he had undertaken a 20-day journey in Bihar to make people aware about vote theft.

“As they fear the voice of the people, they keep on winning by stealing votes. They (BJP and RSS) are out to finish the Constitution and constitutional bodies. If vote theft had not occurred, there would have been an INDIA bloc government at the Centre too,” he said.

Rahul said if the INDIA bloc won in Bihar, people of every religion and caste would be a part of the government. He said he had also interacted with Bihari natives outside the state. “You have contributed to construction in cities like Dubai. Why there cannot be a Dubai or Bengaluru-like city in Bihar?” he asked the crowd.

The Congress MP said at one time Nalanda University was the centre of knowledge for the entire region and students even from abroad came here to study. “What is the state of universities in Bihar now? All will tell you that it’s the place where question papers are leaked routinely,” he said.

Rahul also said CM Nitish Kumar was being remote-controlled by PM Modi. “Nitish only does what the PM wants. Bihar is not run by Nitish, but by Modi and Amit Shah.”
