Continuing his tirade against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday said, “Modi is not only scared of US President Donald Trump, but is also being remote-controlled by Ambani and Adani.” He said this while addressing public meetings in Begusarai and Khagaria.

“The government does not have land for you here, but has a lot of land for Adani and Ambani,” he added while referring to the allotment of 1,200 acres to the Adani Group for building a thermal plant.

The Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha alleged that the PM would do anything to woo voters, but would stop visiting Bihar after the elections and do nothing for the state. “When he has not given you any health or education facility, why should you vote for him?” Rahul asked the public.

Promising to build a world-class university if the Mahagathbandhan bloc comes to power, Rahul said, “There was a time when people from abroad came here to study at Nalanda University. Today, if you ask anyone about universities in Bihar, they will probably refer to paper leak cases to describe the status of education in the state.”

The former Congress president stressed unemployment was the real problem for youngsters. “Modi is asking the youth to use social media so that he can divert their attention from the real issues. The day people realise that Modi and Adani are working in collusion, both of them will be forced to shut their shops,” he said.

He further appealed to the youth to not waste their time on social media. “After the Mahagathbandhan comes to power, we will focus on providing jobs,” he added.

Reiterating the vote theft charge, Rahul said, “The RSS and the BJP had rigged polls to form governments in Maharashtra, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh. Now, they have struck down names of supporters of the opposition parties from the voters list in Bihar.”

Later in the day, Rahul and VIP founder Mukesh Sahani went to a pond for fishing. Besides taking a boat ride, Rahul also jumped into the pond. He also went to the house of a local resident, Mahendra Saw, and interacted with his family. Apart from Mukesh Sahani, Kanhaiya Kumar and Congress candidate from Begusarai Amita Bhushan also accompanied the LoP.
