“These kinds of machinations they attempted in Bihar cannot take place in Tamil Nadu and Kerala because of the two alliances in the states and their boots on the ground,” Chidambaram said, referring to the entrenched presence of the principal rivals in both states — the Dravidian parties DMK and AIADMK in Tamil Nadu, and the LDF and UDF in Kerala.
He added that these were strong, deeply rooted alliances that would not allow any wrongdoing.
“No name can be added without the knowledge of cadres of principal parties in Tamil Nadu and Kerala and no name can be removed,” he said amid the ongoing controversy over SIR in poll-bound Bihar.
