Centre notifies transfer of 11 high court judges

The Centre on Tuesday notified the transfer of 11 high court judges, including two each from high courts of Delhi and Rajasthan, to various high courts.

According to separate notifications issued by the Department of Justice, Justice Arun Monga and Justice Tara Vitasta Ganju of the Delhi High Court have been transferred to the Rajasthan and Karnataka high courts respectively, while Justice Avneesh Jhingan and Justice Dinesh Mehta of the Rajasthan High Court have been shifted to the Delhi High Court.

Kerala High Court’s Justice C Sudha has been transferred to the Delhi High Court while Gujarat High Court’s Justice Cheekati Manavendranath Roy has been transferred to the Andhra Pradesh High Court.

Other judges transferred were Justice Donadi Ramesh (from the Allahabad High Court to the Andhra Pradesh High Court), Justice Sandeep N Bhatt (from the Gujarat High Court to the Madhya Pradesh High Court), Justice Sanjay Kumar Singh (from the Allahabad High Court to the Patna High Court), Justice Subhendu Samanta (from the Calcutta High Court to the Andhra Pradesh High Court) and Justice J Nisha Banu (from the Madras High Court to the Kerala High Court).

The Supreme Court Collegium had in August this year recommended the transfer of 14 judges of various high courts.
