Top Congress leaders on Tuesday ticked off Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM DK Shivakumar over the Chinnaswamy stadium stampede in Bengaluru that left 11 persons dead.

The CM and Deputy CM were told that engagement in celebrations was not a concern of the state government and human lives were important. The CM had yesterday said he had not organised the event to celebrate Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s victory in the IPL tournament this year and that he had only gone there to be part of the celebrations.

Kharge and Rahul also told the state leadership to recount castes by addressing concerns of those left out of the survey conducted by the state 10 years ago.
