BJP MP Anurag Thakur on Monday launched a scathing attack on the Congress, accusing it of failing to provide any relief to the common man during its 60 years in power. Speaking in Parliament, he said that while the BJP-led Centre has introduced income tax relief in the Budget, it is the Congress that is now feeling the “pain.”

Thakur alleged that previous Congress governments had imposed “tax terrorism” on citizens, whereas the BJP has worked to ease their financial burden. Holding up a placard that read “Zero tax up to Rs 12 lakh income slab,” Thakur said, “The Congress may feel bad about this ‘zero,’ but for crores of common people, this is a moment of happiness.”
