Congress hails ‘Operation Sindoor’, urges PM to head tomorrow’s all-party meet
The Congress party hailed ‘Operation Sindoor’ on Wednesday, saluting the valour, dedication, and bravery of the security forces in defending the country’s security and integrity. A working committee meeting was held at the party’s Akbar Road office, attended by top leaders including Mallikarjun Kharge, KC Venugopal, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Meira Kumar, Anand Sharma, and Sachin Pilot.
Addressing reporters after the meeting, Kharge praised the government’s move against terror, saying, “We take pride in our security forces. Under ‘Operation Sindoor’, our forces have carried out decisive attacks on terror hideouts in Pakistan and POK, showcasing their bravery and dedication. We salute the valour of our bravehearts.”
Kharge emphasised the party’s stance against terror emanating from Pakistan and POK, stating, “Our national policy has been clear: we stand united against terrorism. To defend the security and integrity of our great nation, unity is required at all levels. The Congress stands shoulder to shoulder with our braveheart soldiers.”
Rahul Gandhi also hailed the forces’ action against terror, saying, “Full support to our security forces. Best wishes to them. Much love to them. Complete support from the Congress party.”
Meanwhile, the Congress has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to head tomorrow’s all-party meeting. “We want the Prime Minister to be a part of tomorrow’s meeting. Earlier, on April 24, we had requested many times that the PM head the meeting,” said MP Jairam Ramesh. He added that all-party meetings are normally chaired by Prime Ministers.
The party has also decided to cancel all its programmes for the week in light of the recent developments.
