The government on Thursday told the Parliament that it had categorically conveyed to the international community, including China, that Pakistan, as the perpetrator of terrorism, could not be equated with India, the victim of cross-border terrorism.

Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh, in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha, said the message was consistently reiterated during engagements with interlocutors in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor.

He added that seven all-party delegations visiting global capitals after Operation Sindoor had also emphatically underlined this position, showcasing India’s national consensus and resolute approach against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.

“The issue of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, including cross-border terrorism, was taken up with the Chinese Foreign Minister during his recent visit to India,” Singh informed.

The minister further said that the global community widely acknowledged India’s “robust democracy, economic progress, military might, technological prowess, civilisational heritage, and contribution in addressing global issues”.

To bolster this image, the government regularly engages with stakeholders such as think tanks, academic bodies, and research institutions, besides undertaking targeted public diplomacy initiatives to highlight India’s foreign policy priorities.

Singh assured the House that the government “constantly monitors all developments having a bearing on India’s security and national interest and takes all required steps in this regard”.
