“I expressed my deep pain on the fact that on the occasion of entering the fourth quarter of adopting the Constitution, Rajya Sabha could not work for a single moment. How can we live as a democracy and how can we go against the spirit of the Constitution?” Dhankhar, who is the Chairman of Rajya Sabha, was referring to the week-long disruptions by the Congress-led Opposition inside Parliament. Owing to protests by the opposition, business in both Houses was washed out in the first week of the winter session.

Earlier, while addressing the students of Rajiv Gandhi University in Doimukh, Arunachal Pradesh, Dhankhar said corruption was plaguing young minds. Favouritism and nepotism were killing the talent of the youth.
