With promise to implement flagship Ayushman Bharat in the first cabinet after coming into power, ownership rights for residents of unauthorised colonies, 50,000 government jobs, and the revival of the Yamuna, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday released the third and final part of its manifesto for the Delhi Assembly elections.

  • Home Minister Amit Shah minced no words to attack AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal calling him ‘corrupt’ and a ‘liar’ who destroyed the national Capital in the last years.
  • “For 10 years, the AAP has run misgovernance, corruption and appeasement in Delhi. AAP-da has turned the whole Delhi into a mess. The AAP government has only and only broken its promises and cheated the people of Delhi," Shah said.

Earlier, the saffron party had released two parts of its manifesto of which the first one focused on the welfare of Delhi’s women and the second part had multiple schemes for the students and middle class voters.

Releasing their party’s Sankalp Patra, Union Home Minister Amit Shah attacked the incumbent Aam Aadmi Party government and its chief Arvind Kejriwal on multiple fronts, accusing the latter of building a “Sheesh Mahal” for himself even as he had promised of not taking any government accommodation before entering the politics.

“I have never seen such a person in my entire political career. And I don’t have any problem using these strong words because I’m convinced that is why I am saying,” Shah said.

He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced to give ownership rights to more than 1,700 unauthorised colonies, which will directly benefit more than 4 lakh people.

“No one had permission to build, buy or sell them. Now, by giving them complete ownership rights, we will give them the right to construct as per the rules of the Ministry of Housing and the by-laws of Delhi,” Shah said.

The BJP leader promised to give ownership rights to even those refugees who have come from Pakistan. “We will pass a decision on this in the first Cabinet meeting,” he said.

Shah announced the establishment of a Workers Welfare Board in Delhi, which will ensure that all workers have life insurance coverage of up to Rs 10 lakh and accident insurance of up to 5 lakh.

“We will apply the same formula for textile workers. We will provide Rs 10,000 as assistance to workers and for registered workers, we will offer loans up to 3 lakh to enhance skills and businesses,” he said.

The party has this time promised free rides in the Delhi Metro for needy students through the National Common Mobility Card for which every year Rs 4,000 crore will be earmarked. Apart from this, the party stated that they will provide 50,000 government jobs, 20 lakh employment and self-employment opportunities to the youth.
