The Supreme Court on Monday agreed to consider listing for hearing Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s petition challenging the Delhi High Court’s order upholding his arrest by the CBI in a corruption case linked to the excise policy scam.

Kejriwal’s petition challenging the Delhi High Court’s August 5 order was mentioned by advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi before a Bench led by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud.

The CJI assured Singhvi that he would examine the e-mail request and assign a date to the petition for hearing. "Please email it. I will look at it," the CJI told Singhvi.

The High Court had said there was no malice in the acts of the CBI which demonstrated how the AAP supremo could influence witnesses who could muster the courage to depose only after his arrest. It had asked him to move the trial court for regular bail in the CBI case.
