Addressing a press conference here, the SKM (NP) and KMM said farmers’ leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal was scheduled to begin his fast unto death on November 26.

A group of farmers under the banner of SKM (NP) and KMM have been spearheading an agitation since February 13 on various issues.

The farm unions have planned the march to demand guaranteed minimum support price for their crops. This follows two previous attempts when they were stopped by the police, resulting in clashes.

“We will start the march in small batches. We have given enough time to the Centre to agree to our demands,” said farm leader Sarwan Singh Pandher.
