New Delhi, February 27

General Pierre Schill, Chief of the Staff of French Army, who is on a visit to India from February 27 to 29, called upon the Indian Army Chief, General Manoj Pande, and other senior military officers today.

“They exchanged ideas and held constructive discussions on various contemporary issues, including strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two armies. The visit by General Pierre Schill highlights the shared commitment of France and India to strengthen their strategic collaboration across defence, security and technology sectors,” the Ministry of Defence said.

Such bilateral visits and exercises between the militaries of both the nations epitomise the long-standing bond between the armed forces and reinforce their dedication to promoting regional stability as well as international security, the MoD said.
