Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday engaged with several beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana (PMMY) at his residence, marking the 10th anniversary of the flagship scheme.

“Mudra Yojana has given opportunities to countless people to showcase their entrepreneurial skills. Interacted with some of the beneficiaries of the scheme. Their journey is inspiring,” PM Modi posted on X.

Among the beneficiaries was an entrepreneur who has established a successful pet supplies, medicines, and services business. In their conversation, Modi highlighted the importance of expressing gratitude to those who believed in one’s potential, particularly during difficult times. He encouraged the entrepreneur to invite the bank officials who approved the loan to showcase the progress made due to their support.

“Such actions not only acknowledge their trust but also inspire confidence in their decision to support those who dared to dream big. Demonstrating the outcomes of their support would undoubtedly make them proud of their role in fostering growth and success,” the Prime Minister said.

The PM also interacted with Gopi Krishan, an entrepreneur from Kerala, who shared his transformative journey after resigning from his job in Dubai upon learning about the Mudra Loan.

PM Modi acknowledged the significant impact of the scheme, which allowed Gopi to transition into a successful entrepreneur, focusing on renewable energy solutions for households and offices while creating job opportunities.

Further, the Prime Minister spoke with the founder of “House of Puchka,” a cafe business in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. The female entrepreneur shared her journey from cooking at home to establishing a thriving cafe, emphasising the importance of understanding food costs and profit margins.

Another inspiring story came from Mudassir Naqshbandi, the owner of “Bake My Cake” in Baramulla, Kashmir. Mudassir shared how he transitioned from being a “job seeker to job creator,” now providing stable employment to 42 individuals from remote areas of Baramulla.

Modi also commended Mudassir for his use of UPI in his business operations, noting that 90% of transactions are conducted digitally through UPI, with only 10% handled in cash.
