The Congress Party has made significant leadership appointments in the Lok Sabha, with Gaurav Gogoi being named as the Deputy Leader. The announcement was made by Congress General Secretary K.C. In addition to Gogoi’s appointment, Kodikunnil Suresh has been named the Chief Whip, while Manickam Tagore and Dr Md. Jawaid have been appointed as Whips. These strategic appointments aim to bolster the party’s leadership and effectiveness in the Lower House of Parliament.

These changes come as the Congress and its allies in the INDIA alliance prepare to advocate for public interests with renewed vigour. Under the guidance of Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, the newly appointed leaders are expected to play pivotal roles in steering the party’s legislative agenda and upholding democratic values in Parliament.

Venugopal congratulated Gogoi, Suresh, Tagore, and Dr Jawaid on their new roles, saying he was looking forward to their contributions in strengthening the party’s presence and resolve in the Lok Sabha.
