The Bombay High Court in March this year acquitted Saibaba in an alleged Maoist links case, noting the prosecution failed to prove the case against him.

Meanwhile, Left-backed All-India Students’ Association on Saturday grieved the death of GN Saibaba and hailed him for his courage and commitment to justice.

“Adieu Professor! Your indomitable spirit, courage, and commitment to justice will inspire us forever. Rest in Power!” AISA said in a post on X.
